Copy Writing

One of the things that we come across time and time again is clients of ours struggling with their website’s copy – what to write about their business on the pages of the site.

It is generally the piece of the website project that holds up the go-live date of the website. No content!

Another thing to consider here is how well “SEO’d” or “Google friendly” the content is. If you already have a website that you produce your copy for, are you making sure you’re targeting the content and the pages themselves at specific keywords? And if you are currently pondering what your website copy should say, are you considering this factor?

Content is King

Here we know that content is a lot more important than it is often given credit for.

We wrote a blog a short time ago on SEO Tips which has a section on the copy of your website and explains what to consider when coming to your website content.

There are lots of tools you can use to scan your website content and get a report on what keywords it is picking up – these can be helpful and we can recommend a few to consider, come and ask us for a shortlist. Of course, it is worth mentioning in the spirit of fairness that absolutely NONE of these Keyword and SEO scanning tools are Google! Therefore, it is worth considering that these are not ever going to be an absolute authority on the matter of what Google is looking for.

Of course, the main factor for a delay in copy for the website is the age-old issue of TIME!

It can be surprising how much time it really takes to write an engaging, informative, useful, keyword friendly, well-written and well-considered chunk of copy for a page of your website – and if you have lots of pages – well then it takes even longer!

There are business’s out there that offer copywriting services, we ourselves offer it. If we’re doing your website we can also write the copy for you while we’re at it. All we need from you is some bullet-points, some key elements you want to come across, of course, the targeted keyword or phrase for that page and a general tone you are trying to get across with the site.

Copy Writing doesn’t need to be such a headache! There is a lot of help you can get, take a look!
