What COULD your website be doing for your business?

Often during the course of a client meeting we’ll be asked the question; “Well what is the limit? How far could we go with our website?” and really the only answer to that question is; “As far as you want it to go.”

If you’ve seen it on another site, it can be done. If you’ve heard of another site doing it, (if it’s true) it can be done. If it came to you in a dream, then MAYBE it can be done.

The simple fact is that your website has a vast, untapped potential that can be utilised with relative ease, if you’re prepared to give it a go. Obviously, as with most things, it does come down to cost at the end of the day, but so long as you’re being realistic and not deciding you want to take on Google and Facebook with next to no budget – then most things are within reach.

Got a bright idea?

Even if it is something as simple as “I want to make my business more efficient.” It’s still a good idea, what you need now is someone to look into making it work for you. What part of your business do you want to make more efficient? Do you want to digitalise your sales team?

Do you want to streamline your customer data into something cloud-based? Or do you want to give your customers and/or suppliers an online portal to access, reducing your internal manpower needs?

Whatever it is, the chances are a digital solution is the way for it to be achieved.

Going mobile?

Would it be ideal if you and/or your employees could access all your customer data while on the move? Would it be even better if your customers had a mobile platform to access their accounts with you wherever they are?

Either way, it can be done. Mobile apps can be created to link into your own internal database. Depending on the level of access needed this can link directly through your website and allow customers to access their accounts with ease, placing orders and updating information on the go.

Taking Payments?

So even if you’re not a traditional e-commerce site – such as Amazon – you can still take payments through your website. It doesn’t really matter what you do, unless you are a cash business or a restaurant the chances are you could take advantage of an online payment system and there are a wide range of possible systems out there to choose from.

How about an easy online area for your clients to pay their invoices? Or a booking reservation payment? Or even something like selling your how-to guides online with a simple PDF download? How could you utilise your expertise and get your website to make money for you. The best thing about a money-making website? It can make money for you 24/7 it never sleeps, takes a day off sick or goes to the Congo once a year for a safari.

Online Bookings or an Internal Diary?

So whether you’d rather give your customers the chance to book appointments via your site, or you’d prefer to streamline the internal management of your staff by amalgamating everyone’s diaries into one, centrally managed, mobile accessible, cloud-based diary system?

Either way, it can be done and what’s more, it’s not even one or the other. You can have both if that matches your business’s requirements! None of the things we’ve discussed in this blog are either/or – they’re all one or both or all three! There isn’t a limit to what can be achieved for you. Would your business benefit from it’s own diary system that can be looked after by the office manager or operations director?

Need reports, data, stats?

If you’re looking for something to measure either your customer’s activity on your site or you’re looking for something to measure what your employee’s productivity is then again, this can be done too! Whatever you can dream up and wish to have measured and tracked through your site or your internal CRM software, it can be set up to do just that. The only limit is the data you’re collecting. But it is never too late to start!

Just about anything you can dream up!
